After a month like February, March had to be an improvement, right? March, as it turns out, has actually been a really good month, if not always on the blogging front. I’ve had a fair few distractions coming at me this month, but most have been welcome ones. Lambing built to the expected crescendo and is now fading in the rear-view mirror. the fields are full of bouncing wool, and the sheds are reassuringly quiet. Though now the calves are coming in force. Farming: It really doesn’t ever end.
All these distractions meant I’ve been slower on the blogging front than intended (as some of you will know all too well). My grand plans for WarhamMarch ended up being a bit of a damp squib, but I did manage to get on top of my grimdark reading plans, and am miraculously up to date with my reviews of said books as well. I didn’t get any of my planned articles written, but I do have one one tie-in fiction more generally waiting in the wings. This will probably be my last WarhamMarch, as five years is a pretty good run for something that’s more of a joke theme than anything serious. Of course, things might change in the next twelve months, but I’m struggling to think of new things to write about when it comes to Warhammer 40,000. Rest assured, however, that the grimdark book reviews will continue for as long as those books are being written.
Aside from WarhamMarch, I also managed to catch up with a few lingering book reviews, and finally returned to the wondrous future history of Jack McDevitt’s Alex Benedict series. This last read really helped keep my reading activities fresh, and I’m now thinking I might forgo my intended TBR for April and focus more on clearing up all the random odds and ends I’ve got lying around the place. Variety, as they say, is the spice of life.
That’s pretty much all I have to say regarding March here at the blog. I’m hoping to be distraction free for the first half of April, though, so you can expect plenty of science fictional goodness heading your way over the next two weeks.
